ASH WEDNESDAY MASSES 9 a.m. – St. Thomas Aquinas 12:15 p.m. – Canadian Martyrs 4:30 p.m. – Canadian Martyrs 7:00 p.m. – St. Thomas Aquinas
The Mission goal is to stir up the flames of faith - the presence of God’s life that often lies dormant within people. Who will you invite? More information will follow next week. Please pray the following prayer in preparation for the Mission. Dear God, source of all life and light, we come before you to ask Your blessing on our Parish Mission. We differ from one another in many ways: in ages, in interests, and in experiences. Still, we share in being called to serve you as members of Your Holy Church. As we prepare for our Mission, fill our hearts with Your grace, so that we might be open to Your message. Heal our wounds, strengthen our commitments, rekindle our love, and remind us of our worth in Your eternal plan. Individually, we can do good works, but encouraged by our parish family, and supported by their prayers, we can be all You desire us to be. In confidence, we make our prayer through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen
FRIDAY MASS & STATIONS OF THE CROSS During the season of Lent, our daily Mass on Friday will be held at 7 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas and will be followed by Stations of the Cross. I would like to encourage parishioners to make a special effort to make room for at least one daily Mass during Lent. Please note that this Friday, February 24th, there will be a 9 a.m. Mass and a 7 p.m. Mass. SATURDAY MORNING MASS & LECTINO DIVINA Please join us on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. at Canadian Martyrs During Lent. Immediately following the morning Mass, we will gather to reflect upon the Sunday Gospel Readings and share with each other what speaks to us from the Gospel.
PARKING AT STA We ask all parishioners who are parking in the parking lot at St. Thomas Aquinas to be careful when parking next to the house that adjoins the parking lot. Last week, someone backed into the steel post protecting the natural gas meter. This could have been disastrous. Also, be careful when backing up, not to back into the new fence that was just constructed beside the parking lot. We thank you for your cooperation. PASTORAL CARE COMMITTEE MEETING The next meeting of the Pastoral Care Committee has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 21st, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at Canadian Martyrs site. A STORY OF HEALING AND HOPE – PRO LIFE TALK Angelina Steenstra, Canadian director of the Silent No More Awareness campaign, will share her own abortion story and path to healing in Christ. As a woman who suffered the psychological and physical consequences of abortion, Angelina brings hope to those who have been hurt by a choice of abortion. The talk will be on Friday, March 2 at 7:30 pm at St. Thomas Aquinas church hall. All are welcome. A free will offering will be taken for the work of Silent No More Awareness.
