Confirmation

Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. –Acts of the Apostles 2:2-4

It is evident from its celebration that the effect of the sacrament of Confirmation is the special outpouring of the Holy Spirit as once granted to the apostles on the day of Pentecost.

For those interested in being Confirmed there are two options. For youth, they are Confirmed after finishing a three year Confirmation formation program. There is Youth Ministry (The Edge/Oneight Program) for Confirmation preparation. For adults there is the RCIA (Roman Catholic Initiation of Adults).
